Information on

What To Expect

1. Pre-screening

Congratulations on your engagement! You’ve picked your wedding venue and secured your date. Take a look at our site, our work and our personnel. Come up with a list of questions you want to ask us about how we can work with you. When you’re ready, reach out to us via the contact form at the bottom of this page.

2. Consultation

We’ll begin with a consultation, meeting either in-person at the Image Society studios or on a video chat with our Lead Photographer, Lolita. She’ll have snacks and drinks ready! This is a “get to know each other" meeting where we can feel each other out to see if we’re a fit. You’ll get to ask all of the questions you want to ask us in this session.

3. Engagement Session

We love engagement sessions! The more we can see “the real you" before your wedding, the more authentic your photos will be on your wedding day. Your photos will be ready within 3 weeks after your session.

4. Wedding Prep

We’ll create a photography timeline and customized photo tips while you plan your wedding. Our team is available via email for any questions you might need answering while you plan. We’ll also have 2-3 scheduled phone calls before your wedding (one being 3 weeks before your big day) so that I stay informed on what to expect to capture during your day.

5. Wedding Day

Today is the day! We’ll be ready to capture your epic wedding day memories and shenanigans.

6. Post Production

While you’re off to your honeymoon, it’s our time to hunker down with your raw wedding footage. We’ll edit out all of the blurry, awkward, and redundant frames and recreate your wedding timeline through amazing imagery.  This process takes about 6-8 weeks.

7. Reveal Party

The celebration continues! We’ll have a wedding album reveal party at the Image Society studios with some snacks and drinks. Here, we’ll unveil your wedding photos in a carefully curated slideshow and deliver the rest of your goodies to you. Invite your family! This meeting also gives you the chance to invest in other wedding goodies, like enlarged prints and parent albums. If you can’t meet locally, we can also meet via video call.

8. Forever Memories

Enjoy your wedding album by reliving your wedding through your pictures! Hang them on your walls, share with your friends and family, and stay elated that you have these treasured moments forever captured.

Kind Words From

Real Image Society Couples

Gold Hill Gardens Wedding Newcastle, CA

Anastasia & Peter

“The Image Society was amazing! On our wedding day, Lolita and Philippe were organized, on top of everything, and also very calming which was much needed when you’re on a tight schedule. Lolita also did our engagement photos with our two dogs and was so patient and fun. They’re just people you want to spend time with."

Julie & Jonathan

“The Image Society is beyond amazing at what they do! Our wedding day photographs were beyond anything we could have imagined. They made the process of taking photos fun for both my husband and I and it even gave us a chance to catch our breaths and truly enjoy the time together. If you are looking for someone who communicates, makes the process enjoyable, and care-free, look no further!"

Emily & Alex

“The Image Society was absolutely amazing!! From the very first interaction we had my mind, was at ease. Lolita was very professional, prompt, responded to all my questions and had a lot of fun ideas. We did our engagement photos with them too. I was so happy with how they came out! On the day of the wedding Lolita was early, she was very fun and responsive to all the ideas my husband and I had. She also communicated with my DJ (who she did not know) about the timing of the wedding which I thought was amazing. I would highly recommend them!!!"

Frequently Asked

Questions

Do you travel?

Yes we do! We serve weddings within 2 hours from the Sacramento area (and Santa Cruz) without a travel fee. Depending on where your wedding is, we’ll negotiate travel fees to cover basics like gas and hotel stay where needed. For exact expenses, it’s best to bring up your location needs during our consultation so that we can do the math for you.

Do you require a deposit?

To reserve your date, we require a 25% first payment and a signed agreement. We can go over specifics about the agreement during our consultation. Remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.

Why do we need to meet in person before signing a contract?

Your wedding photographer is the one vendor that will be with you your ENTIRE wedding day. First and foremost, we’re meeting to make sure that we LIKE each other! Investing in a full-service vendor is super important to preserve some of the most important memories of your life, and it should be with someone you dig enough to share your special day with. Aside from that, we get to go through specifics about how we can work together and we get to answer any questions you might have prepared and to address some spur of the moment quandries.

How far in advance do I need to book with you?

Our wedding dates are on a first-come, first-served basis. As soon as you know your wedding date and venue, reach out to us to get the booking process started.

UPDATE: We used to serve only one wedding per weekend, but due to mass rescheduling of weddings during the COVID-19 quarantine, we’re booking both weekend dates for 2020. Reach out when you’re ready!

Should my wedding last longer than schedule, would you stay?

Of course we will! Extra time is based on an hourly rate (see pricing section below). We’ll either touch base with you or your wedding coordinator prior to our time running out to coordinate how much longer we should stay. Cost can be taken care of after your wedding evening.

What sets you apart from other wedding photographers?

Literally ANYONE can take a good picture. (IG and Tiktok has plenty of proof of this.)

We offer a wedding photography service that implies that we know so much more:

We’ll work with you before your wedding date to make sure you have a photography schedule that works best for your day and we know how to be flexible if an overall schedule doesn’t go as planned. We also know how to make guests feel at ease with having a photographer present at all times. We look to capture not only portraits and memories, but also all the moments you didn’t know were happening during your wedding. After your wedding, we continue to work with you to help preserve the memories we’ve captured on your wedding day.

We’re genuine people with great senses of humor and really love interacting with the people we work with. What you see is what you get with us, and we’ll never BS or just tell you what you need to hear. We’ll always be looking out for you and your needs in both photo and as a human being during our time together.

Do you have a portfolio example of a full wedding that I can review?

For sure. After Lolita feels out what your wedding appointment will be like, she’ll show you a couple of comparable digital albums we’ve delivered to couples in the past. This way, you can see a better example of what quantity and quality of product you’ll receive if you hire us.

We have a budget of $XXX. Is there a collection we could customize at that price point?

Totally! Let’s chat about your budget and needs during our consultation and piece together a custom package that can work for your budget and needs.
