How to Come Prepared for Your Optional Headshot Session

Please arrive fully camera-ready with your hair and makeup already done. These optional headshot sessions are intentionally streamlined so we can focus on posing, expression, and capturing polished, pageant-ready images.

Bring 2–3 solid-color tops to rotate through during your session. Choose tops that are flattering, well-fitted, and free of logos, graphics, or busy patterns. Necklines that frame the face nicely—such as scoop, sweetheart, off-the-shoulder, or elegant high necks—photograph beautifully. Strapless tops are not recommended unless layered with a jacket or overlay.

All clothing should be steamed and wrinkle-free. When in doubt, select pieces that feel elevated, confident, and aligned with your personal pageant style.

Your hair and makeup play a huge role in how polished and confident your headshots look on camera. These sessions are about enhancing your natural features while keeping everything clean, timeless, and pageant-appropriate.

Hair Tips

  • Aim for smooth, intentional styling. Soft waves, light curls, or a sleek straight look all photograph beautifully

  • Avoid overly stiff curls or styles that feel heavy or dated

  • Make sure flyaways are tamed and hair is fully dry and set before arriving

  • Choose a style that complements your face shape and neckline rather than overpowering it

Makeup Tips

  • Go for camera-ready makeup, not everyday makeup

  • Defined brows, blended eyeshadow, lashes, and even skin tone are key

  • Avoid heavy contouring or overly shimmery products that can distract on camera

  • Matte or satin finishes photograph best, especially for skin
